Real Race is a Windows PC car racing game rated E for Everyone.

Real Race uses non-cartoon style graphics to portray a racing scenario for Windows PC game players. Different than some in the genre, actions such as crashing the vehicle doesn't show as a visual effect on the vehicle, and the cars are not very detailed. There are many cars and tracks to pick, and it is easy to get started with racing right away. Along the tracks are bonus items, which can enhance the player's experience. This game is against the PC only with no multiplayer or online multiplayer options present.

There is a dozen available race cars, most stay unlocked until levels are successfully completed on the 15 different tracks and difficulty levels. Additionally, there is a Grand Prix and more than 50 tournaments players can compete in. Climates and road conditions vary to make things interesting. Though it is a simple game, skill counts as much as speed when completing challenges.

Real Race features 3D graphics with full music and sound effects to heighten the tension of one's virtual hands on the wheel. In order to play Real Race the player will need a Windows PC with 23 MB hard-drive space available. Compatible with Windows 95/98/ME/Vista/7, players will also need to ensure that their processor speed is 800 Mhz or better, and that a minimum of 1024mB of RAM are installed in the computer. Direct X 9.0 or higher will need to be installed in order to run the game.

Real Race is also available in a second and third version from its creators Firemonkey Studios, an independent contractor of Electronic Arts Games based out of Melbourne, Australia. Firemonkey Studios has produced games such as Dead Space, Flight Control Rocket, Mirror's Edge, Simpson's Arcade, Spy Mouse, Flight Control, Mass Effect: Infiltrator, Need for Speed, and the Sims. The studio is comprised of intern students and full-time staff who create games for a variety of platforms, including Windows PC.

Real Race is also known officially as Real Racing, and its second and third sequels offer online and multiplayer options. Real Race (Real Racing) gives a good overview for the racing game genre without bogging new and inexperienced players down in the minutiae of customizations and controls, which may be unnecessary and unhelpful. As the series progresses, more options become available in newer updates. Players can enter Real Race at the beginner level and over time develop more advanced online racing genre game skills while staying within a familiar format.
